Texas Road Trip Word Album

I finally finished this fun little album with pictures of some short road trips we took last month. I am trying to get my samples ready to take to GASC in June.

Circle Journal again

Here are my pages for Susans Circle Journal. The Mexico is a sneek peek of the Word Bud that we will be doing. I used White Out paper, copper dabbers,stamps and bling. The title and flourishes are laser cut and painted with copper dabbers.I used my Circuit with the SCAL program to cut the palm trees and welded words.

Retreat in Milford Texas!

The 9 of us had such a fun time in Milford, Texas, at Our House Retreat. This is such a super place, food was great, rooms,crop room and 2 really super nice people. Of course the retreat would not be complete without some excitment and funny things!
We stopped in Corsicana to shop at Scrappin Good Time but our GPS,Jill, was not wanting to give us directions, so we detoured via a beautiful cemetery. We met Susie and did some shopping, then on the Milford, Texas. Milford is a tiny town and we even got lost there, so we stopped at the police station and got directions from a very handsome policeman. We arrived at Our House, unpacked, and headed for Wax. We had lunch at the 1879 cafe, shopped and visited with Carolyn at the Crafty Scrapper and then went to Just Scrap It, to finish out the day shopping. The rest of Friday night was spent scrapping and visiting, it was so much fun to catch up with people I don't see very often.Janet said that Debbie and I kept her awake all Friday night with our snoring, probably true, I am, sure so she was moving to another room. Saturday was a yummy breafast and off to more scrapping. That night around 11 Janet said she wasn't feeling well and as the night progressed she got worse. About 1:30 Debbie and I took her to Wax. to the ER, amazing how you can find a hospital in middle of the night in a strange town! They gave her an iv and meds for her upset stomach and soon it was 5:30 am. Debbie and I getting totally silly over a blue barf bag and it was a good thing the ER was not busy! We decided to go sleep in Janets SUV while she was getting another IV so we had to bump butts to keep warm. A side note, everyone was making fun of my socks with my Crocs but those socks kept my feet warm! We finally got back to Milford around 6:30 am and crashed for a few hours. Janet felt better after the meds but was still weak so we left around 1:30 Sunday. This was such a great retreat and I can't wait to do it again minus the ER visit.

On the Road Again

There are 9 of us going to ,Our House in Milford, Texas for a weekend retreat. This is sponsored by Just Scrap It in Waxahachie. We are all so excited and of course we will have to make a few shopping stops along the way. First we are stopping and shopping at Scrappin Good Time in Corsicana, then to Milford to unpack, off again to The Crafty Scrapper and Just Scrap It in Wax. Backyard Resident

Along with our turtle Dodger,that has been living with us for 4 years,and several families of lizards, we have acquired a new resident. We saw a snake skin in the grass a few days ago but didn't give it a lot of thought. Last night the owner of the skin made its appearance. I have no clue what type of snake this is but he has taken up squatters rights in our back yard. I don't mind him living here as long as we each stay in our own space and don't cross paths.

The Iris

in my backyard has a lot of memories. It was last year about this time that my sweet little aunt became ill. I spent the following 3 months caring for her in Lubbock. She was really not a flower garden person but she had planted iris in the alley and they bloomed without care. I dug some up and planted them in our backyard and this one bloomed this week. Every time I look at this purple iris I will be reminded of her and all the memories.

School Word Bloom

I made this yesterday using Cosmo Cricket paper,blackboard chipboard, and the matching dies. Love the bright happy colors of this paper.

Chipboard Waterfall Album

We have had a beautiful weekend, sun shining, blue bonnets blooming, just love this time of the year. We worked in the yard some, just enjoying the weather.
I finally finished this waterfall mini album. It has been sitting on my desk for weeks. I used Basic Grey and Cosmo blackboard chipboard, added some little acrylic birds and bling!

12 month book

We have had a cold rainy day here and I finally found time to scrap for me. Here are March pages 1 and 2 for my 12 month book. Tuck was a big 6 in March and we were there to celebrate. My friends and I went on 2 road trips to do some shopping, what fun!! Starbucks and Sonic! When we were in Waxahachie,every time we started taking pictures a stranger would volunteer to take our group picture. We were going into Stabucks and a nice lady going through the drive through, stopped and asked us if we wanted her to take our picture. She got out of her car and took our picture. How nice was that!!

Recipes

Our local scrapbook fever held a Word Bloom contest and the winner got to pick a word of her choice and a free class for 4 of her friends. Heidi decorated a Texas Word Bloom and won. She picked Recipes for her custom word and this is a picture of the fun class we had this Sunday.

Wet Dog

Tiki is so not crazy about her bath but she does tolerate it! She only weighs 5 pounds and I think 4 of that is fur, she looks so funny without her poofy fur. I bought some new doggie shampoo and she does smell yummy, at least for a few days.

Circle Journal

Thanks to Sherri B. I am doing a circle journal again. This is going to be so much fun and a great way to meet new friends. Mine is done and ready for the next person!
I used 8inch chipboard circles and just started digging through my stash. Love being able to use things I had forgotten about! My cj is about a favorite vacation location,mine is Xel-Ha, Mexico. The 1/2 circles are inserts between the vacation pictures, just telling about the vacation.You can click on the pictures and they will enlarge

Customer Service

or lack of!I guess this is the week for things to really get under my skin. Today for example, I took my toilet, now dried out, phone to Sprint to get it turned back on since I had switched it over to my old phone, and his comment was, "well it will probably corrode and be useless in 6 months, blah, blah." Sure could and I could drop it in the toilet again, just please turn it back on and I will take my chances.
That chore done, walked across the street to Office Depot, here in GT. That store has worse than horrible customer service but I needed something printed fast. When the girl finally asked me what I needed and I told her copies, she points to the self serve copiers. Gee I saw them, but I nicely told her I needed color copies, and to have the paper cut. She replied that they had a job ahead of me and so I asked her if I could leave it, her response was they were out of ink and couldn't print! Hello, it is Office Depot, they sell ink! Left there and drove 10 miles to RR to another Office Depot. This employee was friendly up until I told him I needed the copies cut into 1/4. He developed the deer in the head light look!As he was cutting I noticed he threw a bunch of my copies in the trash, I asked him about it and he said the cutter jammed but I wouldn't be charged for it. OK, fine, I am hungry and in a hurry. After I get home I count the copies, I should have 400 I have 297, now I am not happy. I call the manager tell her my story and she goes to look in the trash ( might not be the same trash right?) and tells nope nothing in there. I told her what he said and she still is saying that he didn't short me on the copies. After a long discussion, she finally concedes that maybe I am correct and tells me to come in tomorrow and they will make some more copies. Whew, what a non customer service day! We will see what Sheena says tomorrow when I show her the box that is only 3/4 full!

In the Toilet

It was Monday all day yesterday! I was cleaning house (ugh!) which is bad enough in itself but it only got worse. I had just finished cleaning the guest bath and turned around and my slippery little pink cell phone popped right out of my pj back pocket and landed kerplunk face down in the toilet! Scooped that non floater right out, dried it off and turned the hair dryer on it. Alas, it was waterlogged and not working! It was a new phone and I really liked it so I was very unhappy! I used the hair dryer on it some more and then put it outside for a little sun tan. Brought it inside last night and it did come on but made some unusual noises. I left the charger on it all night and this morning it appears to have come back to life. The eye of the camera has some moisture but the phone seems to have all of the functions back! I am going to be a happy camper if the little pink phone continues on the road to recovery! Moral, don't put your slippery cell phone in you pants pocket and clean toilets!

Waxahachie Road Trip

The 4 shoppers left around 8:30 yesterday for a fun but windy road trip. We stopped in West for a potty break and some Czech goodies. We arrived at Crafty Scrapper about 11 and shopped until time for lunch at the Doves Nest. Kerri met us there for yummy food! We went back to CS and retrieved our shopping baskets, paid the big bill and Patti was the winner for the day. She even got a cute Big Yellow Bicycle shopping bag, pays to shop big!! Patti and I went to an antique mall, I was looking for old postcards and Patti found some goodies. I also found this cute 3 tiered fruit basket and immediately filled it with scrapping goodies when I got home. We drove to Just Scrap It and did some more fun shopping before it was time to head home. We had a great day and I think we wore Patti out, she slept on the way back!

Road Trip Again

Janet, Patti, Marie and I are off to Waxahachie tomorrow to see the Crafty Scrapper and do some shopping. We are leaving early, heading for Starbucks and meeting Patti in Jarrell, she will have her thumb out waiting for us beside the road!
