Budwiser and The Nose

Another little funny!
A husband and wife are shopping in Wal-Mart when the man picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it into the shopping cart.

'What do you think you're doing?' asks his wife.

'They're on sale, $15.00 for 24 cans,' he says.

'Put them back. We can't afford it,' says the wife, and they carry on shopping.

A few aisles later the woman picks up a $30.00 jar of face cream and sticks it into the shopping cart

'What do you think you're doing?' asks the man,

'It 's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' she says.

The man replies, 'So does 24 cans of Budweiser, and it's half the
price!'

Who Knew This?

I am always doing this,we have 3 cars and I cannot remember where the silly gas tank thing is on any of them. Now I know!! No more Ace Ventura for me:)

Thought this little FYI was something we all need to know!!

I have been driving for sixty four years... I would think I should have
noticed the little secret on my dashboard that was staring me in the face
the whole time...I didn't...and I bet you didn't either...

Have you ever rented or borrowed a car and when your driving at the gas
station wondered...mmm, which side is the gas filler cap?

My normal solution was to stick my head out the window, strain my neck and
look, try to see in the side mirrors or even get out of the car!

Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to share with you my little secret so
you will no longer look like Ace Ventura on your way to the gas station or
put your neck at risk of discomfort or injury.

If you look at your gas gauge, you will see a small icon of a gas pump.

The handle of the gas pump will extend out on either the left or right side
of the gas pump?
If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left? If your tank
is on the right, the handle will be on the right (see photo). It is that
simple!

Don't feel dumb, just go out and share the world's best kept auto secret
with your friends.

Puns for Monday

No Pun Intended
1. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.
2. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, 'I'll serve you, but don't start anything.
3. Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.
4. A dyslexic man walks into a bra...
5. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm, and says: “A beer please, and one for the road.”
6. Two cows are standing next to each other in a field. Daisy says to Dolly, 'I was artificially inseminated this morning.' 'I don't believe you,' says Dolly. 'It's true; no bull!' exclaims Daisy.
7. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.
8. Déjà Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.
9. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day, but I couldn't find any.
10. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, 'Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!' The doctor replied, 'I know you can't - I've cut off your arms!
11. I went to a seafood disco last week...and pulled a mussel.
12. What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.
13. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says, 'Dam!'
14. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly, it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.
15. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel, and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?" they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said, "I can't stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."
16. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain and is named "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan you've seen Ahmal."
17. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
18. And finally, there was the person who sent many different puns to his friends, with the hope that at least 10 of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in 10 did (say the last five words aloud, fast)!

Happy Fall Ya'll

I finished this Word Album at Kathy's house last week. Eileen was kind enough to let me use her QK Carolers long die for 2 of the pages. Love that die, along with the long film strip die!
Busy Monday, this morning at 8:20 T had a Dr. appointment for her checkup and blood work (which made her day), then we stopped at McD's so she could eat before school. Back home to pack orders, then I had a Dr. appt for a Mammogram (always fun). Rich and I ate lunch, then back to the Dr. for his flu shot(we got ours this morning). Met Teresa to pick up my Circle Journal and finally back home to unload 2400 sheets of chipboard. Think I am done for the day!
One side note on the Circle Journal, 11 started this last spring with fun ideas and lots of promises. Things hit a snaffu in the summer and one girl had 3 unfinished ones since then. We did take a break for the summer but we were supposed to get back on track in Sept. That didn't work and several of us decided that it just was getting too stressful. Too bad, we had some really great looking CJ's going!

Best of Show

This weekend was the HOTS retreat in Temple. Susie took her store, Scrappin Good Time, in Corsicana ( well some of it) and I drove to Temple to take her some Word Albums and visit with some friends that were there.
Jennifer Stewart was teaching a class and of course scrapping some of her beautiful layouts. Eileen, Kathy and Lisa were there, too, it is always fun to visit with them!
The HOTS retreat always has several contest during the retreat and then the big finale is the Best of Show. Marilyn Hernandez, used our Grand Kids word album to create this beautiful album to win Best of Show! Well deserved!!and thanks Marilyn for using our product. I love the framed award she received!

Hutto Days

Saturday afternoon we went to the Hutto Days. Of course we had to eat at the Texan Cafe and have yummy pie for dessert. I had coconut cream and Rich had Turtle Caramel, both were so delicious! Marie and Jimmie Sue had a booth set up to sell their papers and stamps, we visited with them for a while, and their booth looked great!
No, these cars are not my relatives but thought these cars were so funny!
It was a perfect fall day for walking and seeing all the different booths in Hutto

Cooking

T has never had a desire to cook. She would make cookies and cakes, simple things like Mac and cheese, tacos, spaghetti but not a complete meal from start to finish. Monday there was no school so she seemed a little bored so we cooked New Mexico's Enchiladas, a recipe I found on someones blog ( sorry, can't find it now). She actually had to make everything from scratch and they were really yummy. We had some Spanish rice and chips to complete the meal. I think she has decided that cooking is fun! Tuesday she cooked Parmesan crusted Tilapia served with grilled veggies and salad. Once again a hit!!!

McD's car

I guess you see things when you have too much time on your hands driving home from Dallas. We passed this car and wondered if we saw what we saw. We slowed down to let him catch up, while I hunted for the camera, and about that time a Highway Patrol spotted him. The Highway Patrol came up behind him and followed him for a few miles, I took his picture and the McD's car went on down the road. End of story!:)

Pumpkins

I love the carvings on these pumpkins! These were some of the really big pumpkins on exhibt at the State Fair. I think the largest pumpkin won some money.
Just a little FYI, the grand champion bull, lamb and goat won $95,000 for the bull, 35 for the lamb, and 25 grand for the goat. Great job for the FFA kids!

State Fair of Texas Pictures

We survived the State Fair! Miles and miles of walking and lots of "not good for you, but fun to eat" food! We had the traditional corn dog, corn on the cob, and Fire and Ice, along with lots of water!! It seems that the fair has become really commercialized, you can buy anything in the exhibits building. They should change the name from exhibits to "retail stores inside". You could even climb in a dentist chair and get your teeth whitened! We rode the SkyWay across the fair and had a great view of the Dallas skyline and the Cotton Bowl. We finally agreed to ride what we thought was a mild ride, called the Mouse Chase. It started out calmly enough but within a few seconds any internal organs you wanted removed could have been jerked out in one sharp twist and turn! That was the end of my "fun" riding rides. We didn't ride the Ferris wheel, which happens to be 212 feet tall, the tallest Ferris wheel in the Western Hemisphere, enough said! All in all a great day but we were all worn out by that night!

State Fair of Texas

Here we are in Mesquite, Texas only a few miles from the State Fair of Texas. Tomorrow we will see Big Tex, he has been a landmark, welcoming you to the State Fair for years, plus all the other fun things at the fair. They pride themselves in "fried everything". This year for example, chicken fried bacon was the top winner, most creative, fried banana split, fried grilled cheese sandwich, fried jelly beans, deep fried smores, fire and ice, fried chocolate truffles, and chocolate covered strawberry waffle balls, just to mention a few of the interesting things to eat tomorrow!

Another Senior Layout

See, I knew things would slow down and she would wait until the 11th hour. T did one this week, we are leaving town this weekend so that leaves her 2 weeks to finish 5layouts. Grrr. She does a great job its just the last minute thing that drives me crazy. This is about the Austin City Limits concert she went to last weekend. I don't let her go to many concerts and she even won a free 3 day pass so she was really happy. I popped that bubble when I wouldn't let her skip school Friday to go, you know, everyone else was going, guess she was the only child at school last Friday:)

Lone Star Retreat

I thought I had posted about the Scrap Pink retreat but guess it never made it. It was a lot of fun, great food, and good friends. There were 25 of us and you can see from the picture we had tons of room, which was good since we all brought tons of stuff. Some of us were just day scrappers, Marie and Janet spent the night at my house since it is really close to the retreat!

Memory Makers

Whew! Seems like work and life got in the way last week. I don't know where the days went. We are hoping to go to the State Fair in Dallas this week. It has been a long time since we went and T has never gone. I love going there just to eat.

I haven't submitted a layout for publication in years, and on a whim a few months ago I submitted to MM's call for birthday layouts.I used Lily's sketch, thanks Lily, and they actually contacted me. It won't be published until March 2009. I don't think this will entice me to submit more but it was nice to get the email.

Hoe Down

Susan D. did this cute Boot mini album. I love how she stamped on it and the cute little hat. All that is missing is the hay and fiddle, and I think she will find the fiddle! Thanks Susan!
