Bastrop State Park

Teysha came home for a weekend so we loaded up the RV for a quick trip to Bastrop. This park had a massive fire last year and you can still see the effects of the fire. It is strange yet amazing how the fire and burn hundreds of trees and leave a few in the same path untouched. The park has a long road to recovery but it is peaceful, quiet, and a great getaway for a short weekend.
We built campfires both nights, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, even in the cold night air.
Saturday we took a walk around the camping area with the dogs and met several of our camping neighbors with their dogs. I think RVing requires at least one dog. We exceed that requirement. She studied and we took naps, a perfect lazy Saturday.
We will head home today, back to work and school, but always fun to get away for a few days.
