Snow and Fruitcake

T is loving Steamboat Springs, even with the extreme cold. She said it was going to be about 12 today and forecast of snow. This isn't her skiing but this was the snow 2 days ago.
Here in Central Texas we opted for warmer weather! The high yesterday was in the 60's.We decided to take a road trip to Corsicana for fruitcake. I know that we are among the few that like fruitcake but the Collin Street Bakery makes the best fruitcake in the world. We did a little scrapbook shopping at Scrappin Good Time, had lunch at at fun downtown soda fountain and headed to Waxahachie to pick up a few items. We stopped by the Crafty Scrapper and I found some goodies on sale, then we started home. The traffic on I35 was horrible all the way home, I guess the Holiday traffic has started in full force.

Yeah, so you're not going to have to fight me for the fruitcake, but DH love his grandmother's recipe, so I have to bake some every year.

Collins street makes good fruitcake.....but when I saw the heading, I expected a fruitcake recipe with RUM included to follow suit with yesterday's post. LOL. Sounds like you had a fun road trip.
