New Orleans

We are here in hot NOLA! It took us almost 10 long hours to get here but we did see some new country. We went to Bourbon Street last night and it was an experience. We started out and it was still light but walked back through after eating and a totally different atmosphere. I guess if I was doing a Bucket List I could cross Bourbon Street off because I don't think I would want to go back. I have never seen so many policemen in one place. They were standing, blocking off streets, in cars, in golf carts and on horses. Someone told us that as many uniforms as you see, there are probably twice that many undercover. We did see a scuffle or two but it didn't last long. It certainly is not a place for young children! We sat at an outdoor cafe, with misters, thank goodness and listened to a live jazz band and that was really nice. Around 10:30 the homeless starting making their spots for the night so we went back to the hotel.
Monday we are going on an airboat ride to see the swamp.
Here are a few pictures we took last night!
